Thank you for your helpful caring details about getting around in disney by wheelchair. You should write a book. its not until you or your closest need this accessability that you realise you see through these details and features daily.!!!

Im going with my mum and son to florida but my mum needs a wheelchair which is fine I got your details on wheelchair hire, however I NEED HELP !!!wondered if you could guide me as to renting a car/van that my mum could drive her electric wheelchair straight onto the vehicle, only I know I would not beable to lift an electric wheelchair myself. so Im looking for car hire for wheelchairs??

Wow what great information, my husband two children and myself (in a wheelchair) are off for a fun filled two weeks in Disney this April, and of all the people ive spoken to and all the websites I have looked at none have been so helpfull and reassuring to me as yours, I have to admit I was a little worried that me in my chair would in some way lesson the fun for the rest off the family with all the rides etc but now I’m excited and counting the days away, many thanks

Hi, we don’t use the phrase “confined to a wheelchair” Anymore. People with disabilities Hate it when others say that they’re confined to a wheelchair. Excuse me? That there is Not Acceptable language and is now considered to be Offensive and Very inappropriate Language. There’s a US Legislation called the Person First Legislation and what that does is show you all how to appropriately and properly have a conversation with people with disabilities. We’re Not confined to a wheelchair, we use to get around. Also, please take a look at the Americans with Disabilities Act too about how to Properly and Appropriately communicate with people with Developmental Disabilities.

I am interested in knowing if anyone has a specific hotel where they felt the bathrooms were particularly good for mobility disabilities? Specifically, my mother can transfer to a shower bench if there is a roll in shower, needs a raised toilet seat and needs a lot of bars. We would like to stay in Disney property so she has the option to come and go from the park as conveniently as possible. thanks
