I AM 69 YEARS OLD AND HAVE BEEN IN A WHEELCHAIR SINCE I WAS SHOT BY AN UNLOADED GUN WHEN I WAS 18 YEARS YOUNG. I PURCHASED A HAND CYCLE FROM QUICKIE ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO AND LOVE TO USE IT AS IT DOES HELP KEEP ME IN SHAPE, WHEN I SAW THIS CLIP ON THE DRAGONFLY I WAS BLOWN AWAY BECAUSE IT STILL TAKES ME ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO ATTACH TO MY CHAIR IT ATTACHES UNDERNEATH REACHING THROUGH TH SPOKES OF THE WHEELS. I WILL BE ORDERING A DRAGONFLY TODAY.
BEFORE I LEAVE THIS COMMENT BLOCK I MUST MENTION MY DISGUST WITH THE FIRST REPLY FROM VICKIE ELLERS AND HER WANTING TO USE A WHEELCHAIR TO GO OUT IN PUBLIC BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH EASIER. FOR THE PAST 51 YEARS OF MY LIFE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP ANYTHING TO BE ABLE TO WALK AGAIN THROUGH THE CROWDS OR GRASS OR JUST GETTING IN A CAR WITHOUT DRAGGING A WHEELCHAIR IN THE BACK SEAT. I COULD GO ON FOR HOURS ABOUT THIS BITCH BUT I AM GETTING MORE AND MORE ANGRY - LADY DO US ALL A FAVOR AND GET A THIRTY EIGHT AND RID YOUR SELF OF THE TRASH IN THIS WORLD.

Yeah, I have pobelrms with the word ‘differently abled’ as well. But then, I have a problem with a lot of things To add to the word geekery, the prefix dys, or more accurately, dus, in the ancient Greek language simply changes the meaning of the word it is attached to from a good sense to a bad sense.Listen to me, I’m a Greek scholar! j/kTo get back on topic, I don’t understand this guy. I know that I’ve never met any able-bodied person who would willingly use a wheelchair – who does this man know?! So I don’t see the point behind his argument that saying ‘wheelchair user’ makes it sound recreational.

Hello,

I was hoping that I could find a modified version of a manual wheelchair that I could continue to use when I am no longer in need of one. I have discovered the benefits of using a wheelchair for a great upper body workout, as well a great way to get around my pedestrian-friendly city. I have been able to put heavy loads on the back when I am shopping. I used to walk everywhere, but after using the wheelchair the past couple of months I am really sold on the idea of a street chair for people with painful feet or other mobility problems, or just an easier way of getting around. Because there is such a stigma about people using wheelchairs without a disability I think it should be called a street chair and look somewhat different. I have been trying to figure this out for myself and for another family member who would benefit from this type of modification.

Thank you for allowing me to speak my mind. I am eager to find a solution to my problem. If you do know of someone who already makes chairs similar to what I've described, please let me know. Thanks again.
